The Art Department is a lively, popular and creative hub within Greenhill School. The study of art is a journey of exploration and our aim is to undertake projects that stretch the appreciation and understanding of the aesthetic, technical and conceptual aspects of art.

Our Studio consists of three rooms, two teaching rooms and a Sixth Form studio.   These include fine art, ceramics, textiles, print making, IT and photography facilities.

All of our Art staff are respected artists in their own right and contribute to a friendly and dynamic teaching environment.

Mr Gareth Jones (Head of Department) BA, PGCE

Mr Gareth Jones studied Fine Art and Photography at the University Glamorgan and has a PGCE from Exeter University. He is qualified as an Edexcel Internal Verifier for BTEC.

Mrs. Krystal King, BA, PGCE

Mrs. Krystal King studied Fine Art (Time Based Media) at University of Wales Institute Cardiff and has a PGCE from Oxford Brookes University. She works in video installation and performance art, but has a special interest in 3D art, such as sculpture, installation and ceramics.

Students and parents can follow the Art department on our Twitter page @GreenhillArt:

KS4 and KS5 students also have access to an online Google Classroom, which they should be checking on a regular basis for deadlines and guidance during their GCSEs and A-Levels.
